Crab Manor & The Crab & Lobster Wedding – Amy & Adam
by admin on Sep.06, 2010, under Wedding
The second wedding this weekend saw me 10 minutes from where I live at Crab Manor& The Crab & Lobster Restaurant at Asenby, for the wedding of Amy & Adam. This is a lovely manor house venue with beautiful gardens, and the restaurant is a French style restaurant, with seafood as a speciality. The day was lovely with their wedding ceremony held in the conservatory to Crab Manor, with drinks reception on the lawn. Amy wore a stunning bridal gown created by her sister, complimented by her four bridesmaids. The flower bouquet were predominantly English roses supplied by Sam at The Traditional Flower Companyin Staffordshire. The wedding cake was supplied by Lorriane at 3 Tier Cakes in Halifax.
It has been a while since I last photographed a wedding at Crab Manor so it was nice to be back again. Below is a selection of highlights from Amy & Adam’s wedding for you to enjoy.

Allerton Castle Wedding – Victoria & Neil
by admin on Sep.06, 2010, under Wedding
The first of two weddings this weekend saw me at the stunning Allerton Castle for the wedding of Victoria & Neil. A beautiful wedding, on a lovely summers day, topped off with an impressive sunset.
Victoria & Neil make a lovely couple and they were very organised in their plans for their wedding day. Along with the organisational skills of Dine, their wedding day was superb. From the flowers (Friday Flowers), to the chair covers (Creative Cover Hire Yorkshire), to the string quartet (Strelitzia), everything made for a very special wedding day.
Other information to possibly help in the planning of your wedding are that Victoria & Neil also chose to have a Jazz Trio (Emlyn Vaughan). Their evening band was Adam Laird (Rock Tech Ltd), and a magician (Tom Weil).
I always try to do something different when photographing a wedding, and especially when working at a location I have worked at on many occasions before it would be easy to do the same photography for every wedding. However I want to push myself to try something different and interesting and as such have captured some great photographs of Victoria & Neils wedding. Please find below a selection of the photographs taken on their day.

Holy Trinity Church, Meanwood & The Black Swan Hotel, Helmsley Wedding – Rebecca & Ian
by admin on Aug.23, 2010, under Wedding
Saturday saw me photographing the wedding of Rebecca & Ian at Holy Trinity Church in Meanwood, followed by their reception at The Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley. A superb day that saw nothing but sunshine throughout the day, which was especially pleasing considering the poor day to be had on Friday. Rebecca & Ian are very easy going, and great together. Rebecca wore a stunning ‘Sincerity Bridal‘ dress supplied by Angel Brides in Horsforth, whilst Ian and his groomsmen wore top hat and tails. To take Rebecca to the wedding ceremony and the both of them to the reception, Halifax Wedding Cars supplied a Beauford car. The beautiful flowers were supplied by The Perfumed Garden Florist in Chapel Allerton. The cake was by M&S, and the evening DJ was DJ Ollie Mobile Discos.
Below is a small selection of the photographs I took to show highlights of Rebecca & Ian’s wedding day.

All Saints Church, Newton-on-Ouse & Marquee Wedding – Alyx & Jonny
by admin on Aug.17, 2010, under Wedding
A bit of a tentative weekend this weekend as the weather was so unpredictable. I know I mention the weather a lot in my blog posts, but it has a significant bearing on a wedding day. Unbelievably, it could not have been better for Alyx & Jonny, who married at All Saints Church in Newton-on-Ouse, and then had a Marquee wedding in Alyx’s parents’ garden. A beautiful wedding with some lovely touches including a Rickshaw style Durham Pedicab to transport the bride to the church, a Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company routemaster bus to transport guests, and Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream tricycle cart.
Newton-on-Ouse is a lovely tree-lined village North of York, and the church is very well presented and picturesque. Being a beautiful sunny day made it all the more lovely, and with a garden party reception was idyllic. Following the ceremony the couple took a ride in the rickshaw towards Benningborough Hall, which allowed the opportunity for some lovely intimate photographs of the two of them. Later in the afternoon the light by the river Ouse was beautiful for photography, so I was able to capture some great shots of the two of them at the bottom of the garden.
If you are planning a wedding then I can tell you the flowers were supplied by Celia at ‘Flowers By Design‘ in Easingwold, Alyx’s dress was supplied by ‘Angel Brides‘ in Horsforth, and they had a wedding planner Jennie from ‘Hansley Beard‘ who worked hard to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and everything was set for the idyllic wedding day it was.

The Red Lion, Burnsall Wedding – Jag & Jon
by admin on Aug.09, 2010, under Wedding
I was in the Dales this weekend for the wedding of Jag & Jon at The Red Lion at Burnsall. A beautiful village in between Bolton Abbey and Grassington. The scenery was beautiful, although the weather was very changeable and challenging at times. Jag & Jon planned an intimate wedding with close family and friends and had a great time. It was a lovely wedding day that was enjoyable to be a part of. Jag wore a traditional Indian sari and looked stunning, complimented by her flowers (supplied by Emma’s Homes & Gardens), and the red colour theme chosen for their wedding. Jon wore a traditional suit along with his best man and usher, and again complimented the red theme wearing red ties and and button hole flowers. The car was a cracking little white Karmann Beetle supplied by Timeless Classics of Batley.
Here are a selection of photographs from their day for you to enjoy.

Allerton Castle Wedding – Vanessa & Mustafa
by admin on Aug.03, 2010, under Wedding
I was at one of my favourite venues this weekend, namely Allerton Castle, for the wedding of Vanessa & Mustafa. As always at Allerton it was a superb wedding being such a beautiful setting. Vanessa wore a Donna Salado ‘Tansi’ ivory wedding dress supplied by Elizabeth of York, and looked stunning.
The day went extremely well with us being able to take the group shots outside, and for Vanessa & Mustafa to have 15 minutes to themselves where I was able to capture some lovely intimate moments between the two of them. For me these are the special shots that the couple really like to have in their album as they are completely natural and unposed. I am able to capture the surroundings as well as close-ups of them together, and create something akin to a fine art photograph.
I was asked if I could put together a presentation for everybody to watch between the meal and the first dance, which despite being fine in terms of timings, went well, and I pulled it off without any problems. It is the first time I have been asked to do this, but went down well with the guests. I would particularly like to thank John Starkey of Exclusive Entertainments, who was the DJ for the evening, who supplied a projector screen and sound lead to plug in my laptop for the presentation. It is very much appreciated.
I was also asked if I would mind photographing the fireworks planned for later in the evening, which I duly did, and the results can be seen in the photographs below.
Some further information about Vanessa & Mustafa’s wedding day are that the Rolls Royce that Mustafa arrived in was supplied by a family friend, and really was finished to the highest detail; a really superb car. Flowers were supplied by Jill Springall, and Vanessa & Mustafa had a String Trio play throughout the day, organised by Liz Stacey of Simply Strings.
Vanessa & Mustafa went on honeymoon yesterday and I wish them a great time. In the meantime below is a selection of photographs from their wedding day.

The Netherwood Hotel Wedding – Nicola & Rob
by admin on Jul.29, 2010, under Wedding
The second wedding this weekend saw me in Grange-over-Sands on the southern edge of the Lake District for the wedding of Nicola & Rob. Nicola & Rob live in Leeds and work in Tadcaster, but married at The Netherwood Hotel in the Lakes due to their love of walking in the Lakes. It was unfortunate that on their wedding day the weather which had been lovely the day before was wet a miserable for the entire day. No matter, Nicola & Rob had a great time, along with their friends and family, set in the beautiful surroundings of the Netherwood. When photographing the couple we chose specific locations around the hotel to take something a bit different and special, to capture not only the couple, but the ambiance and surroundings of the hotel.
Nicola wore a beautiful simple design of dress which complimented her well, supplied by ‘I Do Bridal House’ in Tadcaster.
Nicola & Rob are spending this week in the Lakes, so I wish them a great time and better weather, and I look forward to creating their album design when they return. Here is a selection of photographs from their wedding day.

Nostell Priory Wedding – Katie & Geoff
by admin on Jul.27, 2010, under Wedding
This weekend saw me photographing two weddings, the first of which was the wedding of Katie & Geoff at Nostell Priory, a National Trust property. An idyllic venue with beautiful surroundings located just south of Wakefield. Katie & Geoff could not have planned their day better as the weather was excellent which made for a lovely garden party reception. Katie got ready at Malmaison Hotel in Leeds, travelling to Nostel Priory church in a beautifully prepared Rolls Royce supplied by Adel Wedding Cars. Guests travelled to the church from Leeds in a Red London Routemaster bus supplied by Geldards Coaches, which added a touch of quirkiness to the day.
Katie looked stunning in her Ava Rose Hamilton wedding dress, with flowers supplied by Daisy Chain Florist. Katie & Geoff had their wedding reception in a marquee in the grounds of Nostell Priory, with Dine Services supplying the catering.
This was indeed a beautiful wedding, and one which I thoroughly enjoyed photographing. Katie & Geoff are very well suited and I am honoured to have been able to share their day with them. I wish them well for their future together, and I look forward to hearing from them with their album image choices. In the meantime here is a selection of photographs from their wedding day.

Sandburn Hall Wedding – Emma & Jim
by admin on Jul.19, 2010, under Wedding
Saturday saw me photographing the lovely wedding of Emma & Jim at Sandburn Hall. Not the best of weather initially, with short sharp showers and wind until later in the day when it came out beautiful, and the wind subsided. Nevertheless, everyone had a great time, not to mention Emma & Jim themselves. Sandburn Hall is a very different venue to most being a relatively new oak framed building. It offers a superb space in which to get married, with amazing views overlooking the slowly maturing golf course. Emma & Jim are great; a very relaxed couple who enjoyed their day, and were open to any suggestions I made to capture some exceptional photographs.
Incidentally if you are planning a wedding you might be interested to know that Emma’s wedding dress was supplied by Elizabeth of York, and eye catching flowers were supplied by Yvonne Dennis of Husthwaite. Emma travelled from her home to Sandburn in a superb Crysler supplied by Pure Class Wedding Cars. Andrew from AJS Video Productions was their videographer, who was exceptionally easy to work with. Emma & Jim’s exceptional cakes were made by Emma’s sister Amanda, who is gradually building her portfolio of cakes to build her cake making business.
I wish Emma & Jim a lovely time on honeymoon and I look forward to creating their album design. In the meantime highlights from their wedding can be seen below:

The Mansion Wedding – Julia & Chris
by admin on Jul.12, 2010, under Wedding
This weekend saw me in Leeds for the wedding of Julia & Chris at the fabulous Mansion in Roundhay Park. A beautiful wedding and a lovely couple. Julia & Chris are great together and very welcoming. They are so enthusiastic about everything they do, and make the most out of life. They planned an excellent wedding with their friends and family, and everyone had a great time.
The Mansion is a venue I have not worked at before, so it is always inspiring to photograph somewhere different. Set in the stunning surroundings of Roundhay Park in Leeds, it is a traditional style of venue and exceptionally well presented. It has a magnificent presence in the park, set up on a hill overlooking the park. I would highly recommend it as a venue to consider if you are planning a wedding in and around the Leeds area. The venue is managed by Dine Services who are excellent at organising and managing weddings.
Some information to help you in the planning of your wedding are that Julia’s simple but elegant dress was a Caroline Castigliano designer dress. Flowers were supplied by Christine at Horticouture in Huddersfield, and complemented Julia’s dress perfectly. The stunning Rolls Royce Silver Cloud was supplied by Adel Executive & Wedding Car Hire, and the cake was by Judith of Simply Cakes in Leeds. Steve of Unit1 Entertainment arranged the vocalist Wayne Allen & the DJ.
Julia & Chris are now on honeymoon and I am really looking forward to creating their wedding album for them when they return. In the meantime here is a selection of photographs from their day.
