Well after almost four months of lockdown it was absolutely amazing to be able to get back to doing what I love and capture the most lovely, friendly and intimate wedding of Louise and Harry at Kirk Hammerton Church. Just 3 weeks after their initial wedding date, rearranged due to lockdown, I was really pleased that Louise and Harry were able tie the knot and get married in the church of their choice, despite not being able to have all the guests they would like to be in attendance.

Having said that we have kept in touch during lockdown to discuss options for their wedding day, and a plan was put in place to ensure they were able to get married this year providing restrictions were eased enough to be able to do so, with a day arranged for next year for a wedding blessing and reception so that all their friends and family can attend and celebrate with them.

It was with a pleasant surprise that the government announced that weddings could take place from the 4 July 2020 with a maximum of 30 people in attendance. We sort of expected 6 possibly 12 people to be allowed to attend, but 30 gave Louise and Harry the opportunity to invite their immediate close family as well as Louise’s bridesmaids and Harry’s groomsmen.

Kirk Hammerton is a very picturesque church both inside and out an with the weather lovely and sunny prior to the ceremony there was plenty of opportunity to social distance yet socialise. It was however unfortunate that during the ceremony the heavens opened and it rained for when everybody was due to leave. We were however able to capture the small number of formal group photographs inside the church, and with some established trees which gave shelter, we were able to capture some lovely photographs of the happy couple.

It was a delightful day and a day I thoroughly enjoyed. It was clear that both Louise and Harry had a fabulous day, and I appreciate them entrusting me to capture their day for them.

I look forward to photographing their wedding celebrations next year, and in the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their wedding day for you to enjoy.
