It was a pleasure to photograph the pre-wedding photoshoot of Isobel and Robert at Roundhay Park on a pleasantly mild February day on Monday. Having been quite a while since we last met when they booked me to photograph their wedding at Goldsborough Hall in a few weeks time it was great to meet them again and find out more about the plans for their special day.

Roundhay Park is a great location for photography. There is quite a diverse range of locations that can be used for photography to capture a range of different styles of photograph. I like to work in a very natural style, to help the couple relax. It can be quite daunting to have your photograph taken in public by a professional photographer, and a person can feel very conspicuous. My job is to help the couple relax, to feel that it is not so much of a photoshoot, but an opportunity to take time out from their working day, to have time together and feel much more at ease so that there is one less thing to worry about on their wedding day.

It is beneficial for me also to get to know the couple a little better, to find out how they are together and to see how much or little direction the couple would like at their wedding. Isobel and Rob were great together, very relaxed, natural and clearly loved being in each other’s company. I am very much looking forward to photographing their wedding day and in the meantime here are some highlights for you to enjoy.
