An autumnal wedding this weekend for the wedding of Heather & Alastair at St Clement’s Church & The Merchant Taylor’s Hall in York. Although the day started incredibly wet with no sign of let up, amazingly the sun came out when Heather walked across the road from where she got ready to go to the church, and it stayed sunny until everyone was cosily ensconced in The Merchant Taylor’s Hall for the wedding reception. At this time of year when the sun is shining it is much lower in the sky than during the height of summer, and the result is a much nicer, warmer light. Therefore, there was some lovely light at times when taking photographs of the newly weds on their own resulting in some very picturesque autumnal photographs despite it being in a built up area. You may recall Heather & Alastair’s pre-wedding photoshoot in Museum Gardens a few months ago.
Transportation from the church wedding ceremony to the reception was in the form of a stunning classic double decker bus, which was a very pleasant way to travel for everyone and created a great party atmosphere.
Music for the evening was provided by a talented Abba tribute band who got everyone on the dance floor. Overall an absolutely lovely day and the photographs below show some of the highlights from their day.
