The second pre-wedding photoshoot today was for Carrie & Ross at the Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Initially we had planned for an alternate day at Fountains Abbey, but on the day the weather was so poor we changed the date to today. Fountains Abbey was the location of choice but unfortunately was closed this evening, so a decision was made to choose the Valley Gardens, and what a fantastic location it turned out to be. The gardens look stunning at the moment. Everything is well cared for and the colours in both the flowers and the leaves in the trees meant that for an evening pre-shoot when the sun is lower in the sky, the photographs are vibrant with colour. Even though this is so some photographs look great in black & white, which is such a timeless style of photograph. At this time of day there were less people in the park so we were able to use a lot of areas that if we had been there are midday would probably have been busy with people.
The light combined with the colour has made for some vibrant and colourful images, and it is so much nicer to photograph when the sun is shining than on a dull grey overcast day. We were very fortunate that it was such a lovely evening and the photographs reflect the great time we had.
It was nice to meet with Carrie & Ross again prior to their wedding in September. They get married at St Mary’s Church, Goldsborough and then on to Goldsborough Hall for their wedding reception, one of my all time favourite locations. I love working at Goldsborough Hall, and I am very much looking forward to photographing Carrie & Ross’s wedding. Here is a selection of photographs from their pre-shoot for you to enjoy.
