I had the great privilege today of photographing the newly restored Allerton Castle Dining Room, State Bedchamber and Dressing Room. Following an eight year restoration after a devastating fire at the Castle that saw all three rooms completely gutted, the three rooms show off the amazing skill and craftsmanship used to recreate the rooms as they would have been in the 1850’s. Dr Rolph has a great vision of restoring everything to its very best and it is evident to see throughout the castle.
In order to see the rooms and to find out about the history of the of the castle special limited availability tours are being organised on Sunday 28 April 2013, Sunday 9 June 2013, and Sunday 29 September 2013 by ticket only.
