On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Ruth & Paul, who married at St Mary’s Church in Haxby. It was a pleasure in many respects. Firstly, Ruth & Paul are a great couple and it was lovely to spend their wedding day with them, capturing their day as it happened, simply being a part of their day. It was also pleasurable in the weather which was glorious, all day, but more so to be photographing their wedding at St Mary’s Church in Haxby (which brought back memories of a wedding I photographed there in 2009 of Sarah & Pete). All this was topped off by photographing their wedding reception at one of my very favourite wedding venues, namely Goldsborough Hall. With its stunning setting, and being extremely well presented, Goldsborough Hall is a superb venue for a wedding. It ticks all the boxes of what is expected from a high class wedding venue. The woodland walk with a beautiful domed gazebo hidden away, is one of the most recent additions to the grounds, and a superb location for some very romantic wedding photographs. It was with pleasure, even with tight timescales, that we had the opportunity to make use of the woodland and for the couple to have some time to themselves.
Below is a selection of highlights from Ruth & Paul’s wedding day. If you are planning a wedding then Ruth’s stunning wedding dress was made by Alan Hannah at Brides of York, the beautiful floral decorations and bouquets were the creation of Angie, Tracey & Kirsty at Garden of Eden in York, Dennis Curran of Adel Wedding Cars was the chauffeur of choice, Trio Vivo from The Event Music Company played during the drinks reception (always a pleasure to work with Chris), and Pink Cadillac was the band of choice for the evening reception.
I wish Ruth & Paul a great time on honeymoon, and in the meantime, here is a selection of highlights from their wedding day.
