I photographed one of the most wonderful weddings on Saturday, the wedding of Laura & Graham at St Giles Church, Copmanthorpe. Then on to Harewood House for their marquee wedding reception. Regular readers of my blog will probably recognise their names, and remember the beautiful photographs from their pre-wedding photoshoot at Kirstall Abbey six weeks ago.
Saturday was a superb day. One of those days that make me realise how much I love what I do. A lovely couple who made me feel very welcome with some great friends and family.
The weather behaved itself for the most part until mid afternoon when it completely turned to heavy rain and hailstones at one point. The bride, groom and myself were caught in it but only for a minute or so. Laura & Graham had a very brief golf buggy ride down to the lake before the heavens opened and there was still the opportunity to take the formal group photographs outside between the heavy downpours. The weather did not spoil their day as they made the most of the opportunities available to be outside, and the marquee was huge with a socialising area, an area to accommodate 100+ guests for the meal, and a separate dance floor area for the evening reception.
Some information which may help in the planning of your wedding day is that Laura’s stunning gown was created and supplied by Andrea Bainbridge of Goodramgate in York; the stunning floral displays and bouquets were by Anastasia Flowers of Leeds; the amazing cake was the creation of Gaynor Collingwood of Cakes Unlimited; the vintage buses were supplied by none other than the infamous Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company; Superior Motor Cars were the chauffeurs of choice; the evening bank entertainment were ‘The Melody Gears‘.
Laura & Graham are a truly lovely couple, and it was an absolute pleasure to spend their wedding day with them. I thoroughly enjoyed their day and captured some great photographs. Highlights of which are below for you to enjoy:
