Allerton Castle was the venue of choice for the wedding of Gemma & Damian on Friday, and what an unbelievable day. They organised a superb wedding day and the entrance of the bride with her father following the bridesmaids to the wedding ceremony was simply breathtaking. Gemma had planned the entrance timings impeccably to the timings of the music.
Also who would have expected such a drab and dreary wet morning as it was on Friday to turn out so beautiful in the late afternoon allowing the group photographs to be taken outside as well as photographs of the happy couple. The afternoon light and the mild air made for some amazing photography. Despite not being able to use the grassed areas of Allerton Castle, we made the most of the front of the castle to capture some stunning photographs of the two of them.
You may recall seeing photographs of their pre-wedding photoshoot in August at Museum Gardens. Damian in particular was slightly nervous at that time about having his photograph taken, but was much more relaxed on Friday. A combination of having previously gone through the pre-wedding photoshoot as well as there not being the crowds of people as there were in Museum Gardens meant he was much more relaxed and at ease being photographed.
Gemma & Damian are a great couple and it was very rewarding to be part of their wedding day. As always I thoroughly enjoy working at Allerton Castle, and although have photographed several weddings at Allerton this year and still have several weddings to photograph this year, this is the last one at Allerton. It is a stunning imposing location and a very impressive location to photograph. It is privilege to be able to do so. Allerton Castle is managed by Dine Services who are great at organising events and weddings. Both Sophie and Lyndsey are very efficient and work well on a wedding day to ensure it runs smoothly. I very much enjoy working with them and their team. I look forward to being back there next year.
If you are planning a wedding then some information to help in the planning of your big day is that Gemma’s dress was supplied by Elizabeth of York, the flowers were created by Helen James Florist of Harrogate, the cake was by Patisserie Viennoise, and the evening disco was organised by DJ Ollie.
