One area of photography that I seem to do a lot of other which is related to weddings, though can be completely separate, is interior photography. I have often been asked to photograph interiors and architecture as part of putting a portfolio of work together for a client to use to promote a venue for weddings. This week however was a little different.
Working for an architect (Peter Bentley of PEB Architects), a kitchen manufacturer (Dave Parry of David N Parry Kitchens & Furniture), and an interior designer (Zena Bentley of Inside the Box) I was asked to photograph a house project in Stokesley. It is an impressive barn conversion with numerous bedrooms, and guest annex, along with stunning galleried kitchen. I was more than happy to do the work as all three, Peter, Dave, and Zena, are people I have worked with in the past on other work and have referred work to me. The purpose of the photoshoot was for them all to put together a portfolio of work to help promote their own respective businesses and the house was an impressive example of their work.
I am happy to take on this type of work as often it complements my wedding photography, and it is always useful to work with other business of high calibre. Working for interior designers, architects, kitchen & bathroom companies, home and lifestyle magazines, and boutique hotels would be very beneficial to me to help build a portfolio of interior and architectural work, and like I say often complements my wedding photography business leading to further wedding work.
Here is a small selection of the photographs taken.
