Saturday saw me photographing the lovely relaxed wedding of Claire & Chris. I used to work with both Claire & Chris in my former IT career, and it is lovely to know they met at work a few years ago. To be asked to photograph their wedding was indeed very humbling for me. It was nice to receive the telephone call from Chris a few months ago.
Claire & Chris planned a very beautiful informal wedding day. The planning of the weather also could not have been better, virtually perfect considering the time of year. The Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company provided a splendid 1959 AEC Regent V double-decker bus to transport Claire and her father to the ceremony, and then took all the guests on a tour of York. It was superb, and a great way to travel. We stopped at a couple of the main sites in York, namely Clifford’s Tower and York Minster for select photographs of the couple with the bus. Photographs of which are below.
York Racecourse was the location for their wedding reception, having a buffet dinner followed by a disco. The view from the Eclipse suite on the 5th floor was superb of York and the Minster, and I took a couple of long exposure photographs in the evening to capture a dramatic scene of York.
To help in the planning of your wedding day Claire wore a lovely Lyn Ashworth wedding dress. Claire’s flower bouquet was created by her mum, and was beautiful. Their wedding cake was supplied by Marks & Spencer, and Paul Smith from Night Shift was their DJ. Funnily enough a Paul Smith theme seemed to be running through the wedding.
Claire & Chris are currently on honeymoon in Edinburgh, and I wish them a great time. I look forward to seeing them when they return, and to creating an album design for them. In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their day.
