Another weekend and another superb wedding day. This time for the wedding of Sarah & Tony at Middleton Lodge. You may recall that Sarah & Tony had their pre-wedding photoshoot a couple of weeks ago at Fountains Abbey. A lovely couple who organised a beautiful intimate wedding in a Georgian Country House set in 200 acres of country park land with views overlooking the North Yorkshire Moors. If you are looking for a wedding venue with guest accommodation then Middleton Lodge should be on your list of places to look at.
This wedding day was truly one to remember as the weather was superb. Not all photographers like bright sunlight, and there are times when it can create problems. The traditional bride wearing white, and groom wearing black in bright sunlight sends the two extremes beyond the capabilities of what a camera can capture. You therefore end up with either no detail in the brides dress, or the grooms suit, or both. People also squint which is not the most flattering, but turn it around and shoot into the light and you create some stunning images. Keeping my lens in shadow I love shooting in to the light. Try it yourselves and see just how interesting a photograph you can create.
Some details from Sarah & Tony’s wedding which may be of interest to you if you are planning a wedding are that their beautiful flowers were from Sally & Mark Bennett at ‘Flowers by Nattrass‘ on Duke Street in Darlington. Sarah’s stunning dress was supplied by ‘Mojgan Bridal Couture‘ in Bournemouth. The evening band ‘Paul James Band‘ were excellent and despite the area where they were situated under the staircase being quite compact, the acoustics within the circular entrance hall with its very tall ceiling were superb.
Sarah & Tony are not going on honeymoon until later in the year, which is probably just as well with the current problems with flying. I therefore hope to catch up with them to sort out their album design in the near future. In the meantime have a look at these photographs from their wedding. By all means let me know what you think:
