I had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lucie & John yesterday at the most delightful church in Nether Poppleton, St Everilda’s. A very quaint old church and very photogenic, ideal for a wedding party of 60 guests. I have previously photographed a wedding at St Everilda’s Church some three years ago for Sarah & Chris so it was great to return to the same church for the wedding of Lucie & John.
Allerton Castle was the chosen venue for their wedding reception, another one of my favourite venues. With its distinct gothic style it certainly is a unique venue, ideal for an impressive wedding. I always thoroughly enjoy working at Allerton Castle. Dine Caterers were the caterers, organised and managed on the day by Craig who I always work well with. I enjoy working with Dine as they do organise weddings very well.
Lucie & John’s wedding was very relaxed and well organised which made for a thoroughly enjoyable day. The weather remained very calm and bright, yet overcast. This time of year is lovely for holding a wedding due to the amazing changing colour in the trees, which makes for some very picturesque photographs. You can see the difference a month makes as you may recall Lucie & John’s Museum Gardens pre-wedding photoshoot a few weeks ago.
It really was a lovely wedding day and I captured some lovely photographs of their day. I very much appreciate being part of their day and sharing it with them. Some information to help with the organisation of your wedding day was that the chauffeur driven beautiful Bentley was supplied by The Yorkshire Wedding Car Company, Kelly & Sarah from the Dutch Nurseries in Haxby created the stunning floral displays and bridal bouquets, The Bridal Affair were the suppliers of Lucie’s elegant Mark Lesley Bridalwear dress, Jon Starkey from Exclusive Entertainments was the DJ of choice who also provided the impressive fairy lights around the balcony in Allerton Castle, and the Mee Kats were the 1950’s style rock n roll band for the evening entertainment.
Lucie & John are on honeymoon and I look forward to speaking with them when they return. In the meantime a selection of highlights from Lucie & John’s wedding can be seen below.
