I had a fantastic day on Saturday for the wedding of Hannah & Hector at St Benedict’s Church, Ampleforth & Marquee at The Windmill. It was a very relaxed and calm atmosphere, being well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. With a Scottish theme with Hector’s family being from Scotland, the day started off very wet and overcast, but true to the forecast it stopped raining whilst the wedding ceremony was taking place. Although it never really brightened up, it was very pleasant in a beautiful location. The valley at Ampleforth is stunning and and the marquee made full use of the views across the valley having one side of the marquee clear so everybody could enjoy the stunning location.
Hannah & Hector had a fantastic time and it was a pleasure to be a part of their day. When I first met Hannah & Hector, neither were initially keen on having their photograph taken, but on the day they were very relaxed about it, and realised how discrete and unobtrusive my way of photographing a wedding is. I can give as much or as little direction to a couple as they desire on their day, in order to fit in with their expectations of what they want from their wedding photographer. In this sense for the most part I stayed very much in the background apart from when organising the formal group line-ups, and captured some great memories of Hannah & Hectors special day.
I wish them a great time on their honeymoon and look forward to hearing from them in due course.
