A very pleasant evening was spent yesterday photographing the pre-wedding photoshoot of Kirsty & Neil in the beautiful Museum Gardens in York. Despite being a glorious day there were not many people in Museum Gardens during the evening which made for a very relaxed and lovely location for a pre-shoot. Although I had met Kirsty before when she first came to see me to discuss her wedding, this was the first time I had met with Neil, and I think it is really important for a photographer to meet and get to know a couple a little prior to their wedding day, so that on their day they are relaxed being in my company and with having their photograph taken. Their wedding is next weekend and I hope they have the weather they experienced for their pre-shoot as it was a lovely calm summers evening.
We utilised some of the areas of Museum Gardens as well as the riverside walk to capture some great photographs. Museum Gardens has a number of unique and different backdrops for photography so is an excellent location for a pre-shoot. The light at times in the evening can be beautiful to make for some lovely romantic photographs, a selection of which can be seen below.
Kirsty & Neil are to be married next Saturday and I very much look forward to photographing their wedding. A selection of photographs from their day will be posted on my blog in due course. In the meantime here is a taster from their pre-shoot for you to enjoy.
