In the week run up to Christmas it was lovely to photograph the wedding of Louise & Alex on a crisp clear winter’s day at the stunning Allerton Castle.  Despite being cold they could not have asked for a better day.  My day started in a very calm house with Louise and her bridesmaids in Chapel Allerton before travelling to York to the lovely church located on Marygate, St Olave’s Church for the wedding ceremony, before then moving on to the wedding reception at Allerton Castle.  Considering the time of year, they were extremely fortunate to have lovely weather.  The day before had been wet and cold, so to find a sunny day was really unexpected, especially for it to remain sunny all day.  I was really pleased for Louise & Alex to have been blessed with such a day.  They are a great couple and they had a great time.  Having photographed them a few weeks ago during the pre-wedding photoshoot at Museum Gardens, it has been lovely to get to know them.  They are obviously well respected and liked and it was a pleasure to be a part of their day.  Alex surprised Louise during the speeches with a honeymoon trip to Antigua arranging time off for her from work.  I wish them a fantastic time and I look forward to hearing from them when they return regarding their album image choices.  In the meantime here is a selection of photographs from their wedding day for you to enjoy.

This weekend I photographed the wedding of Estelle & Neil at the lovely location of Middleton Lodge in the beautiful village of Middleton Tyas near Richmond. Considering the time of year they could not have asked for a better day despite being a little wet underfoot.  Middleton Lodge is a stunning location for a wedding with beautiful grounds and unique rooms, including the oval staircase which makes for some very interesting and creative photography.  I enjoy working there and the location suits my style of photography.  It only seems a couple of weeks ago since Estelle & Neil’s pre-wedding photoshoot, where we spent just over an hour capturing some of the impressive locations Museum Gardens has to offer.  I am amazed at how time has flown and I am now writing about their wedding day.

Estelle & Neil are a great couple and I thoroughly enjoyed photographing their wedding.  I wish them a wonderful time on honeymoon and look forward to hearing from them when they return.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their wedding for you to enjoy.

What a great day this weekend for the wedding of Helen & Michael at the stunning Monk Fryston Hall.  Although the weather was a little overcast, it remained dry and relatively warm which allowed the beautiful gardens and grounds to be used by the guests.  Monk Fryston Hall is beautiful, with rich oak panelled rooms, and beautiful gardens.  It is a great location for a wedding, and has a very good reputation for quality food.  I have eaten there a few times and would highly recommend it.  It was fortunate that the day was dry enough for Helen & Michael to go down by the lake and into the woodland to capture some romantic natural photographs of the two of them.

Helen & Michael were extremely well organised and relaxed on their wedding day.  It helped with us getting to know each other a little better, having a pre-wedding photoshoot at Roundhay Park a few weeks ago.  As a result on their wedding day we got on well and they knew what to expect from me in the way I work photographing their special day.  The result is some wonderful natural photographs capturing their day, to create a beautiful record of their day to keep for the rest of their lives.  I am really looking forward to creating their wedding album design for them.

Some information to help in the planning of your wedding day is that Helen’s dress was supplied by Angel Brides of Horsforth, Leeds, Helen & Michael’s cake was the creation of Netty’s Cakes of Thornton, and the live band were Break Out.

Helen & Michael are currently on honeymoon in the US and I wish them a fantastic time.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights of their wedding day.

What a great way to spend a Friday, photographing the wedding of Amy & Darren in their beautiful home village of Brompton near Northallerton.  Brompton is a lovely village with a stream running through the centre of the village surrounded by a large village green.  Once again the weather was not as forecast and a dry day ensued.  Although it was not the sunniest of days, it was certainly much better than forecast.  Amy & Darren married in the village church of St Thomas’ followed by a reception at The Village Inn, a family run hotel business with function facilities located on the village green.

Amy and her bridesmaids arrived in style in a Rolls Royce and Bentley pair, which looked fabulous.  Darren also arrived in style in his very impressively presented Mk1 Ford Escort Mexico rally car, which he had spent several hours polishing ready for the big day.  You may recall their pre-wedding photoshoot from a couple of weeks ago.

Some information to help in the planning of your wedding day is that the stunning floral displays and bouquets were the creation of Jane Steel of Wedding and Events Floral Design in Thirsk, Amy’s stunning wedding dress was sourced from Bex Brides whilst their daughter Ruby’s dress was from Carlton Couture in Ripon, and finally the beautiful cake was provided by Constance of Connies Cakes in Northallerton.

A selection of highlights from their wedding day can be seen below:

This weekend saw me photographing the wedding of Natalie & Anthony at St Olave’s Church in York, with their wedding reception at The Churchill on Bootham Road.  Considering the extreme rain and flash flooding on Friday evening, it was a pleasant surprise to have a lovely day on Saturday, which was great for the wedding party, as they were able to enjoy the wedding reception in the gardens of The Churchill.

You may recall Natalie & Anthony’s pre-wedding photoshoot a little while ago at Fountains Abbey.  We had a very pleasant time at Fountains Abbey to capture some stunning photographs of the two of them.  The result of that day meant they were much more relaxed about having their photographs taken on their wedding day, and I captured some great moments between the two of them.  We took some time to take in the beautiful surroundings of Museum Gardens.  It was exceptionally busy with tourists and visitors, but we found a nice quiet area so as to not disturb anyone in order to capture some nice intimate moments between Natalie & Anthony.

Some information to help in the planning of your wedding day is that the stunning white Jaguar was supplied and chauffeur driven by Limelight Wedding Cars, the beautiful floral arrangements were the creation of Garden of Eden on Bootham in York, the impressive cake was created by Tiers and Celebrations of Hull, Natalie’s stunning dress was supplied by The Wedding Collection of Beverley, and Acoustic Duo, 24 Entertainment provided the music during the drinks reception and the evening party.

Natalie & Anthony are currently on honeymoon but I look forward to hearing from them when they return in a few days time.  In the meantime here is a selection of photographs from their wedding day for you to enjoy.

The Mansion at Roundhay Park was the venue of choice for the wedding of Natalie & Richard.  The Mansion is a great location for a wedding and one of my favourites.  Managed by Dine Services, they are well experienced at organising a wedding day.  Needless to say Natalie & Richard had a great day for their wedding day.  You may recall Natalie & Richard had a pre-wedding photoshoot at Fountains Abbey a few weeks ago which is fabulous location for photography.

Their wedding day was a little changeable, but did allow the majority of their drinks reception to take place outside.  We also had time to explore a little of Roundhay Park before their meal with their guests to capture some intimate moments between the two of them.

Some information to help in the planning of your wedding day is that the stretch limo was supplied by PCL Luxury Driving, the beautiful floral displays were the creation of Nicolla Florist in Wetherby, the amazing cake was the creation of Kaths Cakes of Harrogate, and Natalie’s stunning wedding dress was supplied by Berketex Brides of Leeds.

This weekend was the wedding of Kirsty & Neil at St Helen’s Church, Skipwith, with their wedding reception held at the Regen Centre, Riccall.  Despite the lovely weather we have been experiencing recently it was so very unfortunate for them that their wedding day was overcast and wet.  It looked like we might miss the rain, but unfortunately not.  Though not to dwell on the weather, Kirsty & Neil had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their day.  With a VW Campervan and stretch Beetle as wedding cars, there was a VW theme running through the wedding, with the order of service and wedding cake being VW themed.

Kirsty and her mum like ballroom dancing so the first dance was a choreographed dance, and later in the evening a Cha Cha Cha took place with several people from Kirsty’s dance class.  It was a great evening of dancing and thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part.

Here is a selection of photographs from Kirsty & Neil’s wedding for you to enjoy and I very much look forward to creating their wedding album for them.

Only a few days after Kath & Adam’s pre-wedding photoshoot, I photographed their wedding at the same location, The Church of Christ the Consoler (Newby Hall Church), and what a fantastic day.  I really enjoy photographing weddings and this was one of those weddings where when I left at the end of the day I really felt I had a brilliant day.  Meeting with both Kath & Adam earlier in the week really helped them feel at ease being photographed on their wedding day.  On a day which is full of emotion, it can feel overwhelming for the couple, so every little thing that can help them feel at ease is beneficial.

Kath & Adam had well organised a church service followed by a marquee wedding reception.  From the elegantly dressed marquee to the very stylish classic cars used to transport the main wedding party, it was a photogenic wedding and as a result I went overboard on the number of photographs I took.  The 1903 Panhard was a particular delight, and features in some of the highlights below.  Kath & Adam had to gain special permission from the Archbishop of Canterbury to be able to marry at Newby Hall church.  It was great to also work again with Simon Manning, who was the videographer for the day.  We work well together, respecting each others requirements, to be able to capture the shots we both need.

Some information to help in the planning of your wedding day is that Kath’s stunning wedding drew was the creation of Suzanne Neville of Wilmslow, the band were Super Fuzz, and the catering was organised by the Ainsty Farm Shop, Green Hammerton.

Below is a selection of photographs of highlights from their wedding day for you to enjoy.

What a lovely summer wedding for the marriage of Lizzy & Martin.  They could not have asked for a better day.  With glorious sunshine and the beautiful setting of Barmby Field Barn, Lizzy & Martin organised a traditional garden party style of wedding.  With three full days of preparation to dress the barn and surroundings, the place looked wonderful.  With classic games including croquet, welly wanging, splat the rat, jenga, space hoppers, as well as others, there was plenty for their guests to get involved in.  I really enjoy photographing wedding days like this.  With such a variety of things to photograph, and the beautiful light and colours from the foliage on a summer’s day, it makes my job so interesting allowing me to be creative in working with the light.  The photographs have so much more vibrancy as a result.

You may recall Lizzy & Martin had a beautiful summer’s evening for their pre-wedding photoshoot at Welburn near Castle Howard a few weeks ago.

They are currently on honeymoon and I wish them a lovely time and hope they continue to have the great weather they had been fortunate to have for their wedding day.  I look forward to speaking with them when they return.  In the meantime here is a selection of photographs from their wedding for you to enjoy.
