Ampleforth College Pre-Wedding Photoshoot, Maria and Craig, Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Ampleforth College Pre-Wedding Photoshoot, Maria and Craig, Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

I had the very great pleasure of meeting with Maria and Craig for the pre-wedding photoshoot at Ampleforth Abbey and College on Friday.  It was lovely to see them again and to meet their daughter, and spend some time with then in the beautiful surroundings of Ampleforth.  Ampleforth is an ideal location for a pre-wedding photoshoot, with picturesque views and scenery, allowing a couple time to relax and enjoy some quality time together.  The pre-wedding photoshoot is similar to the time I have with a couple on their wedding day to capture just the two of them together.  There is more time than on their wedding day, but it allows them time to relax and get used to having their photograph taken.  I can also offer advice on what looks natural so that on their wedding day they are much more relaxed having their photograph taken, and need me to give them less direction so they can concentrate on enjoying their wedding day.  Maria and Craig are great together and needed very little guidance.  As a result I captured some lovely moments between the two of them.

I very much look forward to photographing their wedding day in a few weeks time and in the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their pre-wedding photoshoot for you to enjoy.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with Sophie and Robert for their pre-wedding photoshoot at Ampleforth Abbey and College.  Ampleforth College was where Sophie and Robert first met when they attended as students, and so it was quite a nostalgic trip for them to return for their pre-wedding photoshoot.  The valley in which Ampleforth Abbey is located is beautiful and I have had the pleasure on many occasions of being able to experience what the valley is like throughout the different seasons of the year.  Unfortunately, today was a little overcast, but that did not matter too much.  We even had the opportunity to go across the valley to the lake which is a lovely quiet spot, ideal for walking and photography.

Sophie and Robert are due to marry in a couple of weeks time.  They are to marry at St Mary’s Church in Goldsborough followed by their wedding reception at the stunning location of Goldsborough Hall.  Goldsborough Hall is one of my favourite locations for a wedding and I very much look forward to photographing their wedding.  As a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, Goldsborough is extremely photogenic and offers the perfect backdrop to any discerning couple choosing to have their wedding at the hall.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from Sophie and Robert’s pre-wedding photoshoot for you to enjoy.

Dalby Forest was the location of choice for the pre-wedding photoshoot of Jessica and Nick on Friday and what a lovely location for a photoshoot.  Dalby Forest is well known to Nick being a keen mountain biker, and the facilities available at Dalby Forest are excellent for families, walkers and cyclists.  I have known Jessica for a few years and it was great to spend some time with Jessica and Nick on a very pleasant afternoon in a stunning location.  Dalby Forest is the ideal setting for the natural style of photography I like to capture especially on a nice day, and I think that shows in the photographs.  Although we did walk quite some way, we found some interesting locations to try something a little different to the norm.

Jessica and Nick are due to marry in a few weeks at Burn Hall and I very much look forward to photographing their wedding.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their pre-wedding photoshoot for you to enjoy.

Katherine and Robert, Fountains Abbey Engagement Shoot, Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

On the one day this week where the sun shone, and we had a beautiful dry day, I had the pleasure of meeting with Katherine and Robert for their pre-wedding photoshoot at the stunning location of Fountains Abbey.  Who would have thought after all the heavy rain on Tuesday, that Wednesday would be a complete contrast.  Fountains Abbey was as stunning as ever and is an ideal location for a pre-wedding photoshoot.  There are so many areas that are photogenic and different, that it is a joy to work there.

Katherine and Robert are due to marry later this summer.  They are to have a church wedding at the church local to where Katherine grew up, before having their reception at the beautiful Goldsborough Hall, a wedding which I am very much looking forward to.

It was lovely to spend the morning with them and get to know a little about them and they got to see how I work, so on their wedding day they will be a little more relaxed about having their photograph taken.  Please have a look at some highlights from their pre-wedding photoshoot.

Megan & James, Castle Howard Engagement Shoot, Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Megan & James, Castle Howard Engagement Shoot, Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Monday saw me photographing the pre-wedding photoshoot of Megan & James at the stunning location of Castle Howard.  An amazing place for a pre-wedding photoshoot, Castle Howard has vast grounds with a good variety of locations for some lovely photographs.  Being a Monday morning the grounds were relatively quiet so we had the run of the place for the most part.  After such a lovely sunny week it was a little cooler and overcast, yet we still made the most of the morning to capture some great moments between Megan & James.

It was lovely to see Megan & James again and to spend some time with them.  They are both natural and comfortable in front of the camera, and the photoshoot no doubt helped them feel more comfortable so that on their wedding day they are much more relaxed about having their photograph taken.  As a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer I very much look forward to photographing their wedding in a couple of months time at the central York location of Grays Court.

Some highlights from their photoshoot are below for you to enjoy.

Sarah & Max, Firsby Reservoir Engagement Photoshoot, Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

I had the very great pleasure of photographing the pre-wedding photoshoot of Sarah & Max at a remote and relatively unknown little haven near Doncaster called Firsby Reservoir; a beautiful spot full of wildlife and a lovely woodland walk, ideal for a pre-wedding photoshoot.  Although not sunny, it was relatively bright and a very pleasant evening.

It was great to meet with Sarah & Max again and spend some time with them.  Both Sarah & Max grew up close to Firsby Reservoir, and Max in particular spent a lot of his childhood in this area and knows the reservoir well.  It was therefore only fitting for them to choose to have their pre-wedding photoshoot here.

Sarah & Max are due to marry in July at the fabulous location of Goldsborough Hall, and I very much look forward to photographing their wedding day.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their pre-wedding photoshoot for you to enjoy.

Holly & Richard, Knaresborough Engagement Photoshoot, Exclusive Wedding Photography

Holly & Richard, Knaresborough Engagement Photoshoot, Exclusive Wedding Photography

On the approach to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful sunny couple of hours with Holly & Richard for their pre-wedding photoshoot.  Although rather breezy it was a lovely late afternoon photoshoot and it was great to meet and work with Holly & Richard prior to their wedding in a couple of months time.

Knaresborough Castle and the surrounding area is stunning, and ideal for a photoshoot being relatively quiet with a lot of variety for different shots.  It is well kept and picturesque, and with the castle ruins stonework, the well manicured gardens, railway viaduct, river, and the natural rock along the riverbank, it really is a lovely place to photograph.

Holly & Richard were great and very easy to work with.  They were very natural in front of the camera and very natural with each other, which made for some great photography.  Their wedding day plans seem to be on track with only the minor details to clarify before the big day, which I very much look forward to.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their photoshoot for you to enjoy.

Ulyana & Daniel, Bolton Abbey Engagement Shoot, Exclusive Wedding Photographer

Ulyana & Daniel, Bolton Abbey Engagement Shoot, Exclusive Wedding Photographer

Yesterday saw me at Bolton Abbey for the engagement shoot of Ulyana & Daniel.  Even on the dullest of days, Bolton Abbey is a beautiful location for a photoshoot.  We took a stroll from the Devonshire Arms along the river to Bolton Abbey, which was fairly quiet yesterday, ideal for a photoshoot.  It was great to work with Ulyana & Daniel who marry at Allerton Castle in July, and who enjoyed the experience of being photographed.  The results of the dull day meant some quite moody and dramatic photographs, and even though it was drizzling for the most part, it never really got to a point where we got wet through.

Ulyana & Daniel are a great couple and I enjoyed meeting them and finding out more about them.  I captured some lovely photographs and I very much look forward to photographing their wedding day.  Please find below a selection of highlights from their Bolton Abbey Engagement Photoshoot for you to enjoy.

Valley Gardens in Harrogate was the location of choice for Rofelyn & Jonathan’s pre-wedding photoshoot on Friday evening.  It is a lovely location, ideal for photography, and is looking great considering we are in early autumn.  Rofelyn & Jonathan were extremely relaxed and at ease with being photographed, and it was a pleasure to spend some time with them.  We took time to look at different locations within the gardens to make the most of what the gardens have to offer.  With a variety of different and interesting locations, I captured a range of different styles of photography.  As a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer it is great to have such a large choice of locations for photography particularly when photographing couples, and the Valley Gardens is a location I would recommend for any couple looking for a picturesque location for their photoshoot.

Rofelyn & Jonathan’s wedding is this coming weekend at the stunning Goldsborough Hall, a location I love working at.  Goldsborough Hall ensure each wedding is special and their attention to detail is exceptional.  I hope the weather for Rofelyn & Jonathan is kind to them this weekend and I very much look forward to photographing their special day.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their photoshoot.

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing Lucie & John during their pre-wedding photoshoot in Museum Gardens in York.  It was a particularly calm evening, ideal for photography, and very pleasant for both Lucie & John to explore the grounds of Museum Gardens whilst I stayed in the background for the most part to capture some lovely photographs of the two of them enjoying each others company.

As a York Wedding Photographer I personally feel Museum Gardens offers a great variety of locations to choose from in photographing either an engagement shoot or for wedding photography.  If the gardens are particularly busy there are quiet areas so as to not intrude on others enjoying the gardens, as well as different styles of location from well manicured formal gardens to secluded areas, to lovely stone brickwork, to more rugged areas. The different areas of the gardens help in generating varying styles of photography to suit all tastes.

As you will see from the photographs below, some areas are more suited to black and white, while other areas are very colourful.  I personally feel that if a photograph has nice complimentary colours, why change it.  Having said that certain photographs work well in black and white as black and white is somewhat timeless in its style.  It gives a different feel to a photograph, and I personally like black and white photography.  Some examples of which are below.

Lucie & John were great to work with and photograph.  They were relaxed throughout the photoshoot, and I am sure they will have benefited from the session to help them feel at ease on their wedding day. They are to marry in the next few weeks and I am very much looking forward to photographing their wedding.  In the meantime here is a selection of highlights from their engagement shoot for you to enjoy.
