On New Year’s Eve I had the great honour of photographing the wedding of Carrie & Adam at Eldroth Church & Eldroth Parish Hall just on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales near Settle. Eldroth is a beautiful remote hamlet with the quaintest church and beautiful rolling landscape. Carrie & Adam live just down the road in Settle, but Carrie got ready at her family home in Eldroth, a beautiful country cottage farmhouse set back from the road.
Carrie & Adam planned a beautiful wedding with 110 of their family and friends. Being a mid afternoon wedding ceremony the candle lit church was idylic and cosy, and being a small church everyone in the congregation was very much a part of the ceremony.
It was a shame about the wet weather though, as always, I made the most of any opportunity of a break in the weather to capture the couple in the surroundings. The break in the weather only lasted 5 minutes or so as the afternoon light was rapidly fading, but it was worthwhile to give the couple a few minutes to themselves so I could capture some lovely intimate moments between them.
Some information to help if you are planning a wedding is that Carrie’s bridal gown was supplied by ‘Sophie Louise Bridal‘ in Boston Spa, the beautiful flowers were by ‘Ruthie Woodhouse’ of Clapham in Lancaster, Carrie’s sister Ellie and her grandmother made the cake, and the evening band was ‘The Wonders‘.
Below is a small selection of photographs to round off 2011 and what has been a great year for me with weddings I have had the privilege of photographing:
