The Hospitium Wedding – Lucy & Chris
by admin on Dec.31, 2009, under Wedding
It is quite amazing how I have not photographed at The Hospitium in over a year, then I have three weddings there in the space of a month. It is however a great venue and location for a wedding. This week was the wedding of Lucy & Chris who some of you may recall I posted some images from their pre-wedding photoshoot a few weeks ago. They are a lovely couple, easy to get on with, and great to work with. With the snow still lingering the setting and atmosphere was fantastic.
Chris surprised Lucy with a beautiful condition red VW camper van to collect her to take her to the wedding venue, which made for some great photographs. We were also able to get out and about in Museum Gardens for some photographs, and despite being wet underfoot, the snow remaining on the grass made for a romantic feel to the experience, which is shown in the photographs. Lucy & Chris have gone for a few days to the Dales for their honeymoon and I wish them a great time. I would however like to show you some of the highlights from their wedding day. Enjoy.

The Hospitium Wedding – Pamela & Chris
by admin on Dec.20, 2009, under Wedding
Following on from the snow at Karen & Sacha’s wedding on Thursday, yesterday saw me photographing the wedding of Pamela & Chris in the snow on a beautiful day at The Hospitium in York. It was idyllic, and absolutely stunning. The sun shone and the paths of Museum Gardens had been cleared, yet there was a good couple of inches of snow on the ground. Pamela is the sister of Ian whose wedding I photographed in 2007, marrying Helen, both of whom it was lovely to see again.
Pamela & Chris make a lovely couple and their wedding day was really lovely. I was made to feel very welcome and captured some stunning photographs. I wish them a great time on honeymoon in the Lake District.

The Old Deanery Wedding – Karen & Sacha
by admin on Dec.18, 2009, under Wedding
Wow! A beautiful winter wedding this week, at The Old Deanery in Ripon. Who would have expected snow a week before Christmas which made for a very romantic wedding day. Karen & Sacha could not have planned it better. An intimate wedding with approximately 50 guests and an evening dinner in the impressive setting of The Old Deanery. Strangely it was not that cold, so we were able to take some photographs outside to capture the atmosphere of the setting. Giving the couple a bit of time to themselves whilst I stayed in the background to capture some intimate moments has created some lovely photographs.
Karen & Sacha go off on honeymoon on Monday, so I wish them all the best and look forward to creating their album design when they return. In the meantime have a look at some of the photographs of their day.

Spa Travel – Shop Refurbishment
by admin on Dec.14, 2009, under Commercial
This morning I was again photographing Paul and his team at Spa Travel following the redevelopment of their high street shop in Boston Spa. It looks great and very sophisticated. Much more inviting than it did when I last visited. I photographed Paul and the staff last year when Paul was initially wanting to update the website and overall look of his business, and the shop redevelopment is one of the last aspects of the business to receive a makeover.
The people at Spa Travel are very friendly and helpful in assisting their customers in their travel requirements and will go out of their way to ensure people have a very positive experience in booking through them. They have won many awards over the years, and I would highly recommend Paul and his team in finding and planning your holiday and travel, and a visit to their high street premises is a must. Have a look at the photographs to see what you are missing out on:

Ampleforth College – Handel’s ‘Messiah’
by admin on Dec.14, 2009, under Commercial
Yesterday evening I have the privilege of photographing a performance of the Messiah at Ampleforth College. A stunning performance, and a photographic commission which was both interesting and a little challenging. With such a performance the click of the mirror in my camera was noticeable so I had to pick my moment to take a photograph very carefully. It was also very noticeable if I moved around so had to choose my location very carefully and stay there for a while, before a suitable moment arose to be able to change location.
The performance was held in the Abbey at Ampleforth which is a stunning location. The architecture is superb, and despite the lighting not being great, I captured some great photographs. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening both from a photographic point-of-view, but also as a spectator to the event. Here is a selection of photographs taken for you to have a look at:

Allerton Castle Wedding – Lucy & Robert
by admin on Dec.14, 2009, under Wedding
On Friday I was back at Allerton Castle, a stunning venue, for the wedding of Lucy and Robert. A beautiful black tie late afternoon wedding, with evening dinner. Lucy and Robert had a civil ceremony with a select few close family and friends before have a wedding blessing at the nearby St Martin’s Church with all their friends. It was a fantastic day, thoroughly enjoyable, and a little mysterious in the weather which was foggy and misty, but made for a great atmosphere. Topped off with a drive in a 2.5 litre straight 6 Triumph TR5.
Lucy and Robert were easy going and organised a great event managed of course by Claudie from Dine at Allerton. A thoroughly enjoyable day which are reflected in the photographs.
