Sandburn Hall Wedding – Sarah & Pete
by admin on Jul.27, 2009, under Wedding
Another great weekend saw me photographing the wedding of Sarah & Pete at St Mary’s Church, Haxby and Sandburn Hall. Once again the weather came good for the happy couple and saw a gorgeous day. The church in Haxby is a venue I have not photographed before and I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, as the roof colour was very vibrant which made for some great photographs in the church. Sandburn Hall was as always a great setting for a wedding, and with the weather I was able to capture some stunning photographs of Sarah & Pete, especially in the early evening.
Sarah & Pete are a lovely couple. It was a pleasure to photograph their wedding. I was made to feel very welcome by both them and their relatives and friends. A truly memorable day and here is a selection of the photographs of their wedding:

Charnwood Hotel Marquee Wedding – Sarah & David
by admin on Jul.20, 2009, under Wedding
This weekend I photographed the wedding of Sarah & David who married at St Lawrence Church in Hatfield followed by their reception in a marquee at the Charnwood Hotel in Blyth. A lovely wedding made all the more special when Sarah secretly arranged for a helicopter to take herself and David to the reception. Apart from a few select people nobody knew, not even David. For me it was a mad dash to ensure I was at the Charnwood Hotel before the helicopter arrived to capture the stunned guests and photograph the couples arrival. The helicopter circled a few times over the hotel, before landing to build the suspense. It was a very impressive entrance, and was timed at the same time that the wedding car arrived with the couple’s parents to divert the guests attention.
Despite the awful weather the day before, Saturday turned out to be pretty good as you will see from the photographs. Sarah & David were very relaxed and did not appear at all nervous for their wedding. They make a great couple and I thoroughly enjoyed the day, meeting some very interesting people and made to feel very welcome. Please take a look at a selection of the photographs I took:

Commercial Photography – Aquarius

Yesterday I was asked to take some corporate photographs for a company north of Ripon called Aquarius. They build Land Rovers that have the capability of going on the rail tracks to clear leaves and for maintenance purposes. I was recommended to them by Peter Beresford of Redsky, who have done work for me and I subsequently have done some photography for them. Redsky offer business support, including financial analysis to small and medium sized enterprises. The photographs of their team on their website were taken by myself and as a result the team at Aquarius wanted something similar. It was a great photo session as they are a great bunch of people, and again I captured some interesting photographs. Please see some of the photographs I took:

Children Photography – Sam Brown

I was very pleased to be asked to photograph the son of a friend of mine, Simon, whom I met when he and his fiance came to see me regarding booking my services for their wedding at The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey in 2007. Simon has a keen interest in classic Minis, as do I, and we have got on great ever since. Needless to say, I photographed their wedding and we have kept in touch. His wife Katy is a lovely lady and it was great to hear that she was pregnant last year and gave birth to their son Sam last summer.
As a result I photographed Sam on Monday afternoon and it is great to see that he is developing a great personality. He is a very relaxed and happy child, and was a joy to photograph. Although I only really photograph weddings, and there is very little repeat business as a result, it is nice to hear when couples of weddings I have photographed are having or have had children, and then to be asked to photograph them is a privilege. I like photographing children in natural surroundings, with them doing things they enjoy doing, as opposed to a formalised photographic session. Their personality comes through in the photographs as a result. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing Sam and captured some great photographs. Here is a selection of the photographs I took:

Marquee Wedding – Sarah & Andrew
by admin on Jul.12, 2009, under Wedding
I have been lucky enough to photograph a wedding in one of the most picturesque villages and churches in Yorkshire. The village in question is Sinnington on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, and the church is All Saint’s Church. The wedding was the marriage of Sarah & Andrew, a great couple with a great bunch of friends. It was a lovely wedding to photograph with the weather being perfect, considering the forecast. Following the ceremony, the took a ride in a 1909 Buick Model 10 Tourabout in immaculate condition, a stunning car, to the reception held at Andrew’s parent’s place in a Marquee overlooking fields and hills to the South. Truly idyllic.
I wish Sarah & Andrew a wonderful honeymoon and here are a few select photographs from their wedding:

Museum Gardens Pre-Wedding Photoshoot – Claire & Paul
by admin on Jul.10, 2009, under Pre-wedding
Well it has been a little while since I posted my last blog article. This has been mainly due to some building work I am doing on our house, rebuilding an extension that acted as a studio, and will again be a studio setting where I can show couples my work and the albums when they come to visit. I will post an update later about the studio rebuild.
In the meantime, I met with Claire & Paul for their pre-wedding photoshoot on Wednesday evening at Museum Gardens in York. Claire & Paul are a really lovely couple and it was a joy to conduct this photoshoot. It was a very casual approach which I really liked, and we had a good hour exploring areas of Museum Gardens and The Hospitium. The evening was very pleasant with not a breath of wind, a little overcast, but nice all the same. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and I am very much looking forward to photographing their wedding at the end of July. In the meantime here is a selection of the photographs I took:
